Sometimes emotional problems can make it difficult to function in our everyday lives. There is hope.
At Calvert Memorial Hospital, we offer comprehensive services for individuals and families. In addition to 24-hour crisis intervention services in our emergency department, we provide inpatient care, adolescent day treatment (partial hospitalization) and adult day treatment services.
In the emergency room, individuals are seen by a physician and a licensed social worker or psychologist. Once medical issues are ruled out by the physician, individuals are referred to inpatient, day treatment or outpatient services for treatment, as indicated.
Our inpatient unit operates 24 hours a day. Our day treatment programs operate 8:30 am-3:00 pm Monday-Friday for adolescents and Monday-Saturday for adults.
The programs are staffed by a board-certified psychiatrist, registered nurses, social workers, mental health counselors, occupational therapists and a public school teacher. Services include individual therapy, group therapy, family or couples therapy, supportive therapy and education on illness, treatment, coping skills and relapse prevention.
