Dr. Malcolm brings broad experience in treating a wide variety of general surgical conditions including the evaluation and management of benign and malignant diseases of the breast and colon and well as gall bladder disease, hernia treatment and management of diseases of the gastrointestinal (digestive) tract. She provides comprehensive surgical consultation and treatment for the full spectrum of general surgical needs for adults and older children.

She comes to Calvert Memorial Hospital from Bradford Regional Medical Center in Pennsylvania where she has been a general surgeon since 2009. Dr. Malcolm is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed her general surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.

“Patients are always anxious when they visit a doctor, especially a surgeon,” said Dr. Malcolm. “Part of being a good doctor is to listen to the patient, take a good history and keep the patient informed. Some patients need a little more time and that’s okay.“

“Every patient is unique,” she said, “and deserves whatever time they need to understand what is going on and to get their work-up done properly.”

Dr. Malcolm is a member of the American College of Surgeons and is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support.
