Dr. Haque has a wide range of experience in treating a broad spectrum of patients with both simple and complicated GI disorders. His excellent diagnostic skills, patience and attentiveness to detail assure quality, professional and compassionate care to his patients and their families.
Although a sub-specialist, he treats his patients as a whole person. “Everything, works together,” he said, “so any treatment has to be all encompassing.”
Dr. Haque completed his training at Cooper University Hospital, a clinical campus of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey that serves as southern New Jersey’s major tertiary care referral hospital for specialized services. While there he completed a vigorous three-year fellowship in gastroenterology that included advanced training in clinic and hospital settings.
During his fellowship, he conducted a major study that looked at imaging modalities to determine how best to diagnose bile duct cancer (cholangiacarcinoma). Dr. Haque also received specialized training in performing ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography), used to identify and or correct a problem in the bile ducts or pancreas. Currently, he and Dr. Faisal Bhinder are pioneering a “hemorrhoid banding” program. They are the only GI practice in Southern Maryland with this expertise.
