We also offer complimentary reflexology sessions to breast cancer patients to help reduce their anxiety associated with chemotherapy. Once the patient is referred by the breast care navigator, Linda Walton, reflexology appointments can be set up based on the patient's infusion treatment schedule. A session is usually scheduled 24-48 hours post treatment.
Treatments are received in the complementary health room in the Center for Breast Care (Suite 102) in the Calvert Medical Arts Center. The session generally lasts one hour. The patient will relax in a reflexology chair or on a massage table. The practitioner will apply pressure to the nerve endings of the feet, hands and/or ears in a systematic manner to stimulate the flow of energy, reducing stress and bringing about a sense of calmness.
