  Employee wellness is vital to any successful business. Healthy employees need less medical care and take fewer sick days. Because Calvert Memorial Hospital believes its employees are its greatest assets, we have designed a program, KeepWell@Work, which promotes healthy lifestyle behaviors, encourages employees to take care of themselves and accept personal responsibility for their health.  Improving employees' health creates a healthier workforce, helps reduce the rising cost of health care and improves our quality of care.

This emphasis on employee wellness has several incentives: 

All employees who complete a HRA (Health Risk Assessment) and work at least 400 hrs/year will receive a $20.00 credit on a Wellness Advantage Debit card and be eligible for 50 percent discount on KeepWell classes and 25 percent discount on Healthy Alternative therapies.

In addition, employees who have medical insurance with CMH will receive a reduction on their biweekly premiums and will be in the middle tiers/rate. Employees who do not have health risk factors associated with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high body composition or smoking, will be eligible for an additional reduction on their biweekly premiums and will be in the lowest tier/rate.

The most important reason to do a HRA is it provides you with a Personal Wellness Profile (PWP). This PWP is an educational report designed to help you evaluate your current lifestyle, identify health risks and decide where and how to make improvements. The choices we make each day regarding lifestyle behaviors all have a profound effect on how long we live and the degree of health we enjoy.
