2012 CMH Ball Sponsors Needed
The Calvert Memorial Hospital Foundation is actively seeking additional sponsors for this year’s hospital ball – set for Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro. The ball’s theme “When Gold Blossoms” was chosen to celebrate the vision and legacy of Dr. Sheldon Goldberg and the remarkable facility he worked tirelessly to create – the Center for Breast Care at Calvert Memorial Hospital.
“The outpouring of community support for this year’s hospital ball has been very positive,” said Kasia Sweeney, acting foundation director, “but we’re still only about halfway to our goal.”
Throughout its history, the ball has generated over $1.2 million for medical technology and equipment at CMH. This year’s proceeds will directly benefit the breast center and go toward the purchase of a new, dedicated breast ultrasound that will increase access, reduce wait times and provide superior imaging for making diagnoses and performing biopsies.
The dynamic duo of Cindy Parlett and Brooke Steuart has teamed up to co-chair what has become Calvert County’s premier social event. They are joined by Ramona Crowley-Goldberg, who has come on board as honorary chair, and an energetic committee of volunteers who have been working throughout the summer to make this year’s ball more vibrant than ever.
An exciting new band – Night Life – will be headlining the signature black-tie spectacular. As always, guests can expect to be treated to an extravagant dinner featuring exceptional entrees and delectable desserts paired with wonderful wines.
“As we launch the 24th year of the hospital ball,” said Parlett, “we want to recognize the sponsors who are the backbone of our success. When you visit these businesses, please thank them for supporting the Center for Breast Care at CMH.”
“The CMH Foundation extends a heartfelt thank you to those sponsors who have already committed their support,” said Sweeney. “Our fundraising is only possible with the generosity of donors like you.”
