Calvert Otolaryngology has new office
Dr. Gene Tudor
Prince Frederick, MD (Feb. 22, 2010) - Board-certified otolaryngologist Dr. Gene Tudor has joined Calvert Otolaryngology, an affiliate of Calvert Memorial Hospital. He has been in private practice for over 15 years and specializes in sinus surgery.
Tudor trained under Dr. Ralph Metson, one of the country's top sinus surgeons, at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital that consistently ranks in the top five for both specialties by U.S. News & World Report.
He is a graduate of Yale University School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Massachusetts General and his specialty training at the combined Harvard Medical School program in Boston. Tudor is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
"We're very pleased to have someone with his advanced training and clinical skill," said CMH President and CEO Jim Xinis. "He brings extensive experience in treating a broad spectrum of highly complex and difficult cases."
"Dr. Tudor is a wonderful addition to our staff," Xinis added, "and greatly enhances our goal to provide comprehensive ear, nose and throat services to our community."
Recently, Calvert Otolaryngology moved into a substantially larger space in Suite 204 of the Calvert Medical Office Building, located next to the hospital. The group also added nurse practitioner Katelyn Johnson, which allows for a more efficient and higher volume workflow so patients are seen sooner.
Dr. Tudor's practice includes all aspects of ear, nose and throat care in both adults and children. His special interests include the surgical treatment of nasal and sinus disease, as well as the evaluation and management of neck masses.
"I want our patients to feel they haven't been rushed," said Tudor, "that they've been listened to and understand the treatment options when there is more than one way to address a medical problem."
Tudor said he chose to come to CMH because of the hospital's strong commitment to developing "first-rate" ENT services. "I look forward to being associated with a very professional organization," he said, "and the opportunity to work with Dr. Daidone whom shares my positive outlook on life."
Board-certified otolaryngologist Dr. Mara Daidone has been on staff at Calvert Memorial Hospital since 1996 and joined Calvert Otolaryngology in 2006. She provides specialty services to residents of Calvert, as well as Charles, St. Mary's and southern Anne Arundel counties. The practice accepts Tricare, Medicare and most major insurance plans.
