Certain medications, such as Aspirin, improve health outcomes and reduce the risk of another heart attack.

Heart Attack: Aspirin Medicine (at Discharge)
Certain medications, such as Aspirin, improve health outcomes and reduce the risk of another heart attack.

Heart Attack: Beta Blocker Medicine (on Admission)
Certain medications, such as Beta Blockers, improve health outcomes and reduce the risk of another heart attack.


Reduction was related to documentation issues. Physicians were provided additional education on proper documentation for core measures.

NOTE: In 2006 the physicians at Calvert Memorial Hospital developed a core measures tool that resulted in improved documentation related to the use of Beta Blocker medicine at discharge.
