CMH Foundation Supports Local Students Pursuing Higher Education In Medicine and Allied Health Fields

The Calvert Memorial Hospital Foundation is offering tuition assistance to area students pursuing higher education in medicine or allied health. Since its inception, the scholarship fund has awarded more than 343 scholarships totaling more than $450,000.

In order to be eligible for the Allied Health scholarship, applicants must be a full-time student who has been accepted at an accredited school of nursing or other allied health curriculum leading to licensure as a practical or registered nurse. Applications are due by April 30.

The Foundation is also accepting applications to the E. Anne Spitzer, MD Memorial Scholarship which was established to encourage Calvert County students to seek careers in the medical field in honor of Dr. Spitzer. The deadline for application is April 30.

“The Foundation is proud to offer assistance to students in our community who are studying to pursue careers in healthcare. These jobs are vital in maintaining the quality of healthcare we have grown to trust here in Calvert County. A career in health care offers many advantages including competitive salaries, generous benefits, flexibility and continued growth,” said President of the Calvert Memorial Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees, Lynette Entzian.

Scholarships are open to residents of Calvert, Charles, St. Mary’s and Anne Arundel counties; applicants must have been a resident of Maryland for at least one year.
