As patient safety is our priority, we constantly strive to improve processes that make this the safest hospital possible. Calvert Memorial Hospital has joined the Maryland Patient Safety Center in an exciting, new initiative called "Get on the Bandwagon." This program was developed to standardize communication practices among providers in the state of Maryland. Alert wristbands are used in the hospital setting to allow for quick communication of certain health statuses of a patient.
Different colors have different meanings. The "alert" names are also printed on the bands to help prevent any chance of confusion in alert messages. This initiative is not only throughout the state but has been adopted in over half the states across the country. The colors are listed at left.Feel free to browse the Maryland Patient Safety Center's website for more information on this and other patient safety programs:http://www.marylandpatientsafety.org/
