Who is eligible to enroll?
Anyone up to age 64 who is not in a government health insurance program, such as Medicaid or Medicare, and does not have access to an affordable plan at work, can enroll in a commercial plan offered through the Maryland State Benefit Exchange. Additionally, there are federal subsidies available to individuals and families who make up to four times the federal poverty level to help pay the cost.
When is it time to sign up?
Open enrollment begins October 1, 2013 and lasts through March 30, 2014.
