CMH Foundation Golf Benefit Raises More Than $70,000

06/08/2017
The Calvert Memorial Hospital Foundation held its 28th annual Benefit Golf Classic at Old South Country Club in Lothian on May 15. A field of 148 players competed for top honors and raised more than $70,000. Since the event began in 1990, it has raised nearly $1.3 million to fund patient care equipment and vital hospital services.

This year proceeds from the golf tournament will help fund computer technology upgrades to the Emergency Department. “With the increased complexity of emergency room cases, we are always seeking ways to improve. Efficient information management at the fingertips of our medical team is essential to providing timely and high-quality care,” said Associate Vice President of Corporate Communications and Philanthropy Theresa Johnson.

Tournament Chair Pat Petricko was ecstatic. She said, “Each year, I’m amazed by the incredibly generous support this event receives. Our success is entirely due to our sponsors, enthusiastic golfers and volunteers who come out year after year to support this great cause.”

CMH President and CEO Dean Teague expressed his gratitude to the golfers, sponsors, and employees who make it all possible. He said, “I hope you know that your contributions help us realize our vision of providing exceptional care and making a difference in every life we touch.” During his remarks, Teague singled out American Radiology Services and American Radiology Associates and Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC who led the way with Master’s Club sponsorships.

He added, “We’d also like to recognize our generous Ryder Club sponsors—ADI Construction, All American Ambulance & Transport, Leach Wallace Associates and Networking Concepts.”

Teague extended special thanks to Wanda DeBord of Title Max, LLC and to Pat Petricko/REMAX 100 for providing breakfast, as well as Hole-in-One sponsors Bayside Auto Group, Dickinson Jewelers, Pat Petricko and Winegardner Buick Auto Group.

Taking first place in Division I was Brad Rodier, Matt Reidy, Joe Durham and Josh Becker from The Columbia Bank.
